Way to Go, Canada!
According to the Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, 99 percent of Canadians took in some Olympic action in February, 2010 through one of their media platforms. While Canadians are the big winners, it is interesting to continue to examine the different ways to own the podium. Continuing the theme of our previous 'notable' posting, we ask "how many athletes went home with medals?" and "how many medals went home with athletes?", in addition to the traditional measure of "how many medals were won by countries". Rachel Corbett, Hilary Findlay and David Lech

Emond Montgomery Publications Limited, 2008 (259 pages)
ISBN 978-1-55239-160-0

This text fills the need for an accessible book covering the issues faced by those working in any sport management capacity. There are many legal principles that a sport manager must understand and apply on a daily basis. With a strong Canadian focus, this book presents a broad range of issues and cases, tied together with practical application of essential legal theory in the sport context. Covering everything from contracts to risk management, doping to violence, negligence to tribunals, and much more, this will be a welcome resource for practicing sport managers as well as students at colleges and university.

This book was reviewed by Joanne MacLean in the Winter 2009 Issue of Coaches Plan.
